INSTALLATION
TECHNIQUES. . .
1. |
First,
determine the areas you wish to protect. Our product can
be used to enclose your entire property, or selected areas
(please note that the area should be completely enclosed
for the best deer protection.) In our experience, using
the product along just one or two sides of the area could
result in severe damage - it will allow the deer to enter
from a particular direction, try to exit from another
direction where the fencing has been installed, and damage
your fence in their attempt to escape. Therefore, we recommend
that you completely enclose the area
you wish to protect, (enclosing particular section(s)
or your entire property). If you choose to enclose your
entire property, we suggest using Cintoflex P-Flex. If
you choose to enclose small gardens or landscaped areas,
our standard C-Flex product. Since deer do not like jumping
into small areas, you may be able to use lower height
fence for narrow beds/small gardens. |

The fencing can be attached to
your existing trees with U-nails. When doing so, we recommend
that the trees are no more than 15' apart. If no treeline
is present, or if trees are further than 20' apart, our
tubular 1 3/8" pipe, rail steel or pressure treated
2" x 4"s or 4" X 4"s maybe used and
should be spaced no more than 10' apart. Start in a corner
at ground level, unroll the fencing, and attach it to
the tree using u-nails every 1 foot as you work your way
up. For maximum strength, use as many nails as possible
on top and bottom. Leave some play in
the fencing as you install it. Run a coil wire along the
top of the fence and attach to the pipe in holes provided
(must make sure to order pipes with holes drilled). Or,
if using wood, attach it with staples. Attach the coil
wire to the fence with zip ties every foot. (Please see
the Deer Fence Specifications Section for complete information
on both products.) |

|
| 3. |
Deer are notorious
for trying to push under fence! In order to keep them
from getting in, install the fence netting so that it
the ground. Then secure it to the ground using 12"
metal stakes every 8' - 10', or attach a wire running
the length of the fence by securely fastening it to the
bottom of the fence (similar to the coil wire installation
method used for the fence top, as stated in number 2.
We have also had success placing large rocks on top of
the overlap to secure the netting on the ground.
If you have rabbits and small
animals and are installing Cintoflex, you may want to
add a steel hex barrier. We recommend installing 2’
steel hex netting along-side the bottom of your Cintoflex.
This ensures that small animals don’t chew holes
in your fencing, creating a starting point of access
for the deer. Attach it in the same way you are installing
your Cintoflex fencing for added protection.

| |
| 4. |
Attach 12" long white
ribbon onto the fence every 10' at a height of 4'. This
will allow the deer to see the newly installed barrier,
keeping them from running into it. The ribbon should be
left up for six to eight weeks. It is most
important to place a ribbon along areas of high deer traffic
and/or time worn paths (we also recommend using a
double layer of fencing where frequently traveled paths
exist). |

Remember that you will need to
run a top cable for added strength. This is also
necessary to meet pool code. |
